Who we are

A software firm, run as an engineering practice.

Quillstone Capital is family-owned and Zimbabwean. We approach software the way a good engineering practice approaches a build — measured, documented, and made to last. The people who own this company are the people you'll deal with.

The name

Houses of stone.

Zimbabwedzimba dzemabwe — houses of stone. The stonework at Great Zimbabwe was cut so precisely it needed no mortar, and it's still standing seven hundred years later. That's the standard we took our name from.

The quill is the other half: the specification, the contract, the code. Ideas written down carefully enough to be built — and to keep working long after they're handed over.

Stone is what we build. The quill is how we design it.

Principles

Build to the process

We don’t sell a system you have to bend your business around. We map how you already work and build to that.

Foundations before finishes

Get the structure right — in a database, in a workflow, in a company. Cosmetics come last.

You own what we build

Source code, data and hosting are yours. We earn the next project by being worth keeping, not by locking you in.

Built to outlast us

We measure in decades. We build systems we’ll still be proud of in twenty years.

Finish the job

In a market where abandoned projects are normal, completion is a competitive advantage.

Work with the owners.

No account managers between you and the people building your system. Tell us what's slowing your operation down and we'll take it from there.
